Well, I started writing a post Imaging USA report but got sidetracked and never finished it. Since it’s been a couple of months now I’ll move on.

In other more recent news I’ve had a few photos published in local media. Two photos of the Bastards of Fate were used in an article in the Roanoke Times about the band. One publicity photo and one live shot. Two more photos were used in a profile of Another Roadside Attraction in the March edition of Valley Blend magazine. Both of those bands are also using my shots on their CDs and websites. Pretty excited about that since they are two of my favorite bands. I hope to add Eternal Summers to my list of favorite local bands to have worked with soon too, just need to work our schedules out.

I’ve also started work on a personal project of doing portraits of local musicians. I have a long way to go on it but it is under way.

Finally got around to making some changes here including a new WordPress theme that I made a few changes to. Might tweak it a bit more but it’s better than it started out as.

While working on it I noticed just how much of a slacker I am when it come to posting here. Like 3 or 4 months in between updates. I’m going to change that. I know I’ve said it before but this time I’m sticking to it. I’ve actually put a pop-up notice on my Google calendar to remind me every Wednesday to make a post here that way I won’t have the excuse of forgetting about it. I pretty much live by my Google calendar anymore so that should work.

I don’t think I’m going to go back and post any older photos even though I have tons that I could. Instead I’m going to only post more recent stuff, no more than a week or two old. Going to make an exception in this post though for a photo from last months trip to New Orleans for the Imaging USA expo and convention. Actually I might write out a longer review of my trip down there while I’m at the laundromat later today but for now I’m going to bed.

Been working on some other projects and haven’t quite finished the updates yet but it is in process. Hopefully after I get back from Imaging USA I’ll have some time to finish it up. Trying to hand code it all myself instead of using a template so it’s a bit more work than I was expecting.

I know it seems I like abandon the blog for months at a time and I guess I actually do but it’s not on purpose. With Facebook, Google+, Twitter, 500px, Flickr, Tumblr and this blog I get kind of overwhelmed and end up only updating one or two sites. Usually Facebook and G+. It’s like when I go to the store to buy something simple like shampoo and there’s 200 choices on the shelf my brain shuts down.

So the plan is to give my website a makeover as a central place to easily get to my social media sites and to reduce the number of those. I’ll probably scrap my Flickr and Linked In accounts at least. Hope to set an hour or two aside every week just to update the blog to try to keep some fresh content coming in but we see how that’s worked in the past.
